TwitchCon: The Journey To

We left on our journey to TwitchCon a few days early. On the way we planned on stopping to see my grandmother. Those that know me know that my family makes me nervous (like most other humans). I greatly enjoy seeing my family, yet always end up stressing myself out too much before I have the chance. Circumstances prevented us from leaving as early as we would have liked, but we were still able to head to Arizona. It was a nice visit with my family, short, but relaxing. I left feeling like we should have spent more time, but glad that we did not seem to over stay our welcome.

Our journey to San Diego (or TwitchCon proper lol) was fairly easy. Few know but I was born in California. I greatly enjoy coming back to my home state, though my chances to do so are few and far between. We took a walk on the pier in order to get a glimpse at the ocean. Ben and I are similar in many ways, one of those is our love of the ocean. While both of us were not born by it, we’ve both been able to live near it at various points. The smell, the sound, the feel, everything about being by the sea is like being home.

Tonight we have been fairly lame. We went to a restaurant that was highly recommended by a friend of Ben’s. It is called The Strip Club, no it’s not one of those, just very smart marketing. It was a nice experience. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing, and the concept was unique. It was also nice to take a moment just for the two of us while we are here. Perhaps we will have many of those, but just in case I am so happy we had tonight.

While the rest of the TwitchCon world is getting ready to party (or has begun to) we are being more lazy. It’s been a long trip, and I want to be energized for the rest of the con. TwitchCon for me is a great chance to learn, to finally be better at this streaming thing. That is not to say that is the “right” or “best” way to spend this weekend, it is however my way.

This is not my most thoughtful blog post, but I am very happy to be here, to have this chance, and I hope to share a lot with all of you.
